Access Two Gmail Accounts at once in the Same Browser

Great news for Gmail users, now Access Two Gmail Accounts at once in the Same Browser. Yes now you can access your two different Gmail accounts at the same time in the same browser. I have a couple different Gmail addresses that I use for different purposes. Historically, Google Accounts – including Gmail accounts — have only let people access one account at a time per browser, so using both accounts has been a bit inconvenient. I’ve either had to sign out and sign back in, use a second browser for my second account, or use a Chrome incognito window. And I'm not alone; lots of people have asked this for a better way to use multiple accounts at once in the same browser.

Now, you can visit and click the link next to "Multiple sign-in." Just follow the steps given below and you will have both your Gmail accounts ready to go with.

After you sign into your first account, you can sign in with up to two additional accounts from the new accounts menu in the upper right hand corner of Gmail, then easily toggle back and forth between them.

You can even open multiple Gmail tabs — one for each of your accounts.
You can use multiple sign-in with the following desktop versions of these Google products:
  • Code
  • Calendar
  • Gmail
  • Reader
  • Sites
  • Voice
  • Docs(coming soon)

Other Google products and the mobile versions of the above products do not support the use of multiple accounts in the same web browser. Instead, they default to the first account that you signed in to from your current browser.

Please keep in mind that this is a feature for advanced users, and there are a couple things to watch out for:

1) Not all Google services support multiple account sign-in yet. For the services that don't support it (like Blogger and Picasa Web Albums), you'll be defaulted to the first account you signed in with during that browser session. So if you click a link from Gmail to Blogger, for example, you'll be logged into Blogger with the first account you signed in with, even if you clicked the link to Blogger from your second Gmail account.

2) We’re still working on making Gmail and Calendar work offline with multiple sign-in. If you rely on offline access, you probably don't want to enable this feature quite yet.

3) Multiple account sign-in only works on desktop browsers for now, so if you use Gmail on your phone's browser you won't see this option yet.

Tip: Always check your address (at top right) to make sure you’re using the account you want.

Mobile Number Protability

Mobile number portability and you

Our life is changing drastically. Technology made our lives even easier that it earlier was. From trunk calls to mobile number portability, India has traveled a long way. With the introduction of low cost mobile hand sets the communication revolution in India took a big leap. During the beginning of 21stcentury the major concept was “reducing the distance”. The very concept changed the whole thing. More and more telecom companies started operations in India. Spectrum auction became the main revenue generation exercise of the government. Then according to the instruction by TRAI one second billing concept introduced in India. Now the time has come for the much awaited mobile number portability.

What does it mean

Mobile number portability is a system that allows the customers to change their service providers without changing the mobile number. It is a welcome move since it gives customers the freedom of choice. But there is another view also which says this move will affect the profitability of the telecom companies. When the competition among mobile companies increases naturally the end beneficiary will be the customer. It is easy to change to the system of number portability, just contact the service provider and that’s it.

Mobile company shares

Reliance, TATA, Airtel, Idea, Vodafone, Aircel, MTN…the list is getting bigger day by day. Increased competition only means decrease in profit. In the short term mobile number portability will be a blow for the telecom company shares. But surely stability will happen in the telecom sector after the implementation of number portability. The latest news from telecom sector is that –the field is set, get ready to reach the skies.

Facebook Improves Search Capabilities

In the latest news to come out of the social media market, Facebook has recently announced that it will be improving its search methodology. This move has been designed to allow users to locate the results that they are looking for easily.

Every day, the search market is literally abuzz with different kinds of activity. Greplin, for instance, is a startup that recently left Beta. All Greplin users can now conduct searches across their Facebook, Gmail, Twitter and LinkedIn connections. The search company’s primary services are to support queries in Google Docs, Google Reader and Google Calendar. It also hopes to follow tweets very soon.

Google also released a tool to battle online spam. This tool allows its Chrome users to filter out unwanted websites from their search results. With this block option, users have to simply click a button and add all the undesirable sites to a list of blocked links, and these will never appear in their search results again.

Facebook also redesigned its business-oriented pages last week. This new design eliminates the tab format, allows administrators to interact through the Facebook Page identity, highlights news based on the user’s interest instead of chronology and allows users to move photos to the top of the page. The search capabilities on Facebook are being refined to make it easier for users to find what they want.
